Our consciousness experiences limitations if we do not let our mind dwell in the here and now. This happens in such a way that the recognition of the embedding of our individuality in the divine reality of being does not become aware of us, especially when we focus our attention on the past or the future.
Those journeys of our mind into the past or future – i.e. memory or imagination – have the effect that our attention is weakened in relation to our present „real“ situation. Buddhist schools recommend, among other things, as a meditative, contemplative technique for overcoming this supposed segregation, concentration (awareness) on one’s own breath. By focusing on purely physical states of being in the now (such as paying attention to one’s own breathing), the mind (consciousness) is kept in the present. The goal of this perseverance of human recognition in the Now is the most perfect recognition of the presence of God in every moment. The purpose of this proposed exercise may therefore be that we experience GOD in the NOW. Consequently, our hopes for a better world (and a personal and individual healing of our conscious self) may not be projected into the future; rather, we may realize that „healing in being“ may always happen now. We may peacefully realize and become aware that heaven is merely a special state of consciousness – one that we all long for and are most likely to attain if we expect and want to realize it in the now.
Our task for the realization of heaven on earth is to translate our individually intellectually and emotionally gained knowledge into action. „Paper is patient,“ it is said, and a million beautiful words do not bring about the degree of change that a single, well thought-out, action brings about.
